MISS LJ
(Modern, Lyrical, Ballet, Jazz)
LJ began her dance training at the age of three at Allstar Dance Academy. She studied ballet, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, tap, musical theater, and gymnastics. Aside from studying at Allstar she also trained at Princeton Ballet School and the American Ballet Theatre. She created and was captain of her high school dance team during her senior year. LJ went on to receive her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. There she studied a variety of modern dance techniques, African, ballet, and jazz. As well as dance pedagogy, dance history, choreographic and improvisational skills, kinesiology, conditioning methods, and performance techniques. She has performed works by artist such as John Evans, Keith Thompson, Randy James, and Robert Battle. May 2015, she received her Masters in Dance Education with a PreK-12 Teaching Certification from Rutgers Graduate School of Education. Through her graduate studies she expanded her knowledge in dance pedagogy, assessment, and curricular planning.
