This class is an introduction to the Royal Academy of Dancing Ballet Syllabus. Pre-Primary develops students’ physical skills, stamina, creativity, expression, and musicality using a range of sounds and musical styles. The knowledge and skills gained through successful completion of these levels provide a basis for progression to subsequent examinations in ballet and other dance genres. This beginner class is an introduction to hip-hop dance. Hip-Hop can be defined as street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. It includes a wide range of styles primarily breaking, locking, and popping. The more commercial, studio-based version of hip-hop—sometimes called new style and jazz-funk is a hybrid of hip-hop and jazz dance. This high energy class embraces all styles and incorporates age appropriate popular social dances. (60 min)
Acrobatic training teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, and above all, discipline and concentration. Basic tumbling skills such as cartwheels, handstands, bridges and splits will be incorporated in this class, setting the foundation for more advanced skills later on. 60 min
