Q. What type of classes do you offer? A. Our studio offers quality dance instruction in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical/contemporary, modern, hip-hop, musical theatre and acro/tumbling!
Q. What ages and level do you offer classes for? A. We offer classes for ages 2 to Adult. Levels Beginner through Advanced.
Q. Do you offer a discount if my child takes more than one class? Or if I register more than one of my children? A. Yes! We offer individual discounts for multiple classes and a discounted family rate! Please refer to our TUITION page for more info.
Q. Do you have classes for boys? A. Yes, all our classes are co-ed!
Q. My child is 13 years old and has never danced before, can he/she still take classes? A. Absolutely! We offer age appropriate beginner classes for teenagers. Our staff is also eager to evaluate and place he/she in the proper level, regardless of prior dance experience.
Q. What dancewear and footwear are required for classes? A. Our school does have a dress code. For your convenience, dancers may purchase the required items at MDC's Dance Boutique (located in our lobby). We would be happy to fit you/your child with the appropriate dance attire. Q. Can I try a class before registering? A. Yes! Trial classes for new students are always available. Please call the studio to arrange a trial class.
Q. How do I register my child? A. We have a couple of ways to register. Please visit our Parent Log Inonline registration portal (OR) You may stop by and Register in person at any time! We do have an open house/in-person registration for prospective students to tour the school, to be fitted for dance shoes/attire and to meet the artistic director!
Q. When can I register my child? A. We start our yearly registration in June. Our summer registration begins in March. We suggest you register as soon as possible because classes do fill quickly.
Q. When do dance classes start? A. They run from September -June like the academic school year.
Q. Do you have summer classes? A. We offer day & evening classes, mini camps and intensives throughout July & August. CLICK HERE FOR INFO.
Q. Do you have an end of the year performance? A. Yes! Our Annual Spring Recital is held usually the 1st or 2nd Saturday in June. It is the culmination and celebration of each student's year long progress. We believe it is imperative to instill confidence in all our dancers and help cultivate the joy of performing.
Q. Are parents permitted to observe class? A. Yes, parents may observe their child's class during PARENT OBSERVATION WEEK in February. Don't forget to bring your camera!
Q. Do you participate in dance competitions? A. We are no longer officially a competitive school. Our philosophy that dance is not a sport but an art form is the basis of our teachings. MDC's dance company, Dance Reflections, will occasionally compete for educational purposes and for exposure to the competitive dance world. We strongly believe in the personal artistic growth of each dancer and that every student can measure their own success.
Q. Do you have a dance company for serious students? A. Dance Reflections is MDC's Teen dance company. It is open to intensive students ages 12 & up. Students must be invited by the director to audition. We are a performance-based company.
