MISS ALICIA P
(Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Acro)

Picture
Alicia Pagan is excited to teach this season at Metuchen Dance Center. Pagan grew up and started her training at the age of 2 1/2 at her mom's dancing school Maria Elena's School of Dance with Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. At the age of 7  she showed a lot of interest and was sent to continue her studies at A Touch of Dance. She broaded her studies with Acrobatics, Modern and Pointe and was put on the Bravo Dance Ensemble after her first year. While on the Bravo Dance Ensemble she got to perform in Walt Disney World twice, the 9/11 Tribute in Liberty State Park, and many fairs, competitions and workshops throughout the tristate area. She started teaching right after she graduated High school at her Alumni. Alicia attended Middlesex County College and joined the dance team,  dance club, and dance ensemble. After her first semester in dance ensemble she got asked to choreograph for the next show. While at MCC she became Dance team Captain,  Dance Club President,  and received the Excellence in Dance Award as well as Outstanding Leadership.  Alicia graduated with her Associates in the Arts in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Dance. After college she went into the city to pursue her dancing career and got her certification in José Limón Technique. Pagan returns back to MCC and teaches Limón Technique every year. Alicia has performed original pieces with Lustig Dance Theatre in New Brunswick as a guest artist for their performances of Jangala and A Jazzy Nutcracker and is a member of Solo Danza! Pagan has recently rekindled her love for theatre again as well and was in the production of Children of Eden as a featured dancer and dance captain.  Her choreography credits include seven years at Middlesex County College, original choreography for the production of My Mother's Song, two years for Artist Visions Dance Company, and teaching at various dance schools throughout NJ.
